Red hair 2008-2011

Whether it refers to fire, or to the devil himself, “reddishness” had an evil connotation during the Middle-Ages: redheads were considered as sorcerers or witches and were either hidden or executed. As a gesture of empathy for the history attached to this minority and its differences, I, twenty years ago dedicated a first series of portraits to the redhead. Today I revisit this same subject casting a new light on “reddishness” by getting closer to those living with it and by excelling in restoring, in my own way, the diverse nuances associated with this color.
